Born and raised in Quebec, Canada, Claudia left her hometown to travel the world and learn new languages at a young age. Her studies in International Relations and Disaster Management led her to work for several non-profits including the CECI Montreal, UNICEF Quebec and the Canadian Red Cross. Claudia has been a true animal lover for as long as she can remember but, after volunteering at the Montreal SPCA Emergency Shelter, she realized how immensely rewarding it is to care for animals. Shortly after, she decided to reorient her career towards animal protection, and began to work for the World Animal Protection (previously WSPA) in Thailand and the Philippines. Since then, she completed a certificate program in Animal Welfare at the Thompson Rivers University and was privileged to work at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley (HSBV) as their Adoption Services Supervisor. In 2018, Claudia joined Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center as the Volunteer and Outreach Manager and couldn’t be more proud.
